Meet Ruth

Think of therapy as finally kicking off tight shoes at the end of a long day. You get to exhale, drop the performance, and just be yourself — no judgment, no pressure, no "fix me by Friday." My hope is to offer that kind of space: warm, human, and unhurried, where we figure things out together, one step at a time.

My style is trauma-informed and person-centred, and honestly, a bit of a pick-and-mix ; I draw from CBT, EFT (tapping), Solution-Focused Therapy, attachment work, and parts work, depending on what you need. In plain terms: we explore what's going on and why, then gently shift things so life feels a little lighter and a lot more manageable.

I work with children, young people, and adults, walking alongside them through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship struggles, identity questions, life transitions, self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and faith or religious trauma. With younger clients, I meet them where they're at; using play, metaphor, and age-appropriate ways of exploring feelings so things feel safe and make sense. I also support women rebuilding their sense of self after abuse or big life change.

Family means a lot to me, and so does the community and land I get to live and work on; I try to bring that same warmth and respect into every session, wherever you're coming from.

My hope is that you leave our work together feeling heard, understood, and a little more connected to yourself. Like the dragonfly, I believe we're capable of transformation — even when it feels more like wobbling than flying.

And if you're looking for someone who actually wants to listen, in a world that mostly wants to talk — that's me.

The greatest piece of advice I've received:

“You don’t have to have everything figured out before you take the next step.” It reminds me to give myself grace and trust the process.

Something on my bucket list:

To travel to different parts of the world, experience new cultures, and create meaningful memories with the people I love.

My top 3 values:

Compassion, integrity, and growth. I believe in treating people with kindness, staying true to what matters, and remaining open to learning and becoming better.

If I was an animal I'd be...

A dragonfly. I love what the dragonfly represents: transformation, resilience, adaptability, and the ability to see things from a different perspective.

I have a day totally to myself, with no obligations. Where would you find me?

Somewhere quiet and cozy, probably enjoying finger food, cuddling a puppy or kitten , and scribbling very personal notes on my journal.

Besides my work, a special skill of mine:

Bringing people together. I enjoy creating welcoming spaces where people feel comfortable, eat, let lose, feel connected, and included.

My Myers-Briggs personality type:

ENFJ – “The Protagonist.” I tend to be people-oriented, empathetic, organized, and motivated by helping others grow and feel supported.
