Meet daniella

Hello there!

Ever since I was thirteen and referred to a Psychologist for test anxiety, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. I have always been the diva with a soft heart and good listening ear. After completing the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology degree from Concordia University of Edmonton followed by a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University, I was officially ready to transition into my role as a therapist. Today I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist committed to the well-being of all my clients. I truly care for all people and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. Having worked with a wide variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.

As a therapist I am known to be direct, motivating, eclectic, and fun. My goal is to make our time together less nerve-wracking and more like having coffee with a friend, while maintaining an ethically sound practice that propels you towards your therapeutic goals. I believe that people have a remarkable ability to heal, connect, grow, and live a fulfilling life. My aim is to walk alongside you on your journey to help you nurture the best version of yourself. Creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship with my clients is top priority, as I view it as the foundation for growth. I strive to create a safe, non-judgemental, and empathic space for my clients. So, please come just as you are.

I provide counselling to children (6-12), adolescents (13-18), adults, families and couples in various areas including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, peer relationships, self-esteem challenges, self-harm, emotion dysregulation, life transitions, bullying, behavioural challenges, stress, divorce/separation, infidelity, blended families, and trauma. My approach to counselling is client-centered at the core. I integrate a variety of evidence-based interventions such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment Theory, Gottman Method for couples, and play in therapy. I am committed to expanding my therapeutic knowledge and have a strong interest in trauma-informed, somatic and attachment-based approaches.

Outside of the counselling room you will find me either immersed in play with my 3 year old, at a spin class, sweating it out at hot yoga, ripping through fashion blogs or nestled up on the couch near a fire watching Yellowstone.

The greatest piece of advice I've received:

Throughout late elementary and early middle school, I was bullied. Vividly I remember my mom telling me “Stand up for yourself. Know your worth and fight for yourself. For what you believe in”.  That message has followed me to support my advocacy work, career and relationships.

Something on my bucket list:

Go to Bali for a yoga retreat! I have travelled to 37 countries but I have yet to make it to Bali and I have been itching to go.

My top 3 values:

Ambition

Courage

Wonder

If I was an animal I'd be...

Definitely a lion! It represents all I aspire to be: strength, courage, justice, and fearlessness.

I have a day totally to myself, with no obligations. Where would you find me?

Probably pampering myself. Getting my nails or hair done. So hard to find time with a toddler at home!

Besides my work, a special skill of mine:

Creating digital content. I really enjoy developing websites or social media posts that are fun, and original.

My Myers-Briggs personality type:

ENFJ: The Protagonist

Meet minnie

Hi! My name is Minnie and I am a beginning stage therapist-in-training here at Landry Psychology as I explore the world of animal assisted interventions and activities. I am a 10-month old TeaCup Pomeranian.

Did you know that animals in therapy can help you remain more present and feel more connected? More puppy cuddles, anyone? I am working slowly on becoming more in tune with human emotion and how to show you connection. I promise, I really am a great listener!

When I am not working on becoming a therapy dog, I love cuddling, belly rubs, and chasing my best friend Alessia around the house.

I work with Daniella on Saturdays! To learn more or schedule an appointment with us, please fill out the contact form below or call us at (780) 708-7335.
