Gator's in the chair
Gator's in the Chair is a podcast hosting intriguing conversations in psychology with plenty of education, tools, and a dash of humour. We named this one after our founding therapy dog- Gator! While she can't participate in the podcast, we hope to infuse some of the wisdom she shares in her work and maybe some dog-related humour along the way.

Please note:
Our podcasts are not intended to substitute for mental health support from a registered provider. Our intention is to inspire and educate our audience in the realm of mental health. We will discuss topics related to mental health and share tools, information, and some of our own opinions, too. We will be discussing both current research and our personal opinions on this podcast, so the information shared will not be a “one size fits all.” If you ever feel in need of mental health support, we urge you to reach out to your local resources. Here in Alberta, you can call 211 to access 24 hour support, or call your local distress line.
Meet the hosts
Sarah is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She has always been interested in working in the mental health field, but began her journey in working a group home, a restorative justice program, & wrapped up the beginning of her career working with the Edmonton Police Service in the missing youth unit. Sarah's areas of interest are similar to Josh's with an emphasis on trauma, couples, & working with first responders & front line workers. Sarah is an energetic, positive individual with a great enthusiasm for debating & chatting with Josh. Her favourite colour is pink (you can usually find her either wearing something pink or something pink with her) & she is a proud fur mama to crockpot, meatloaf, & yeti.
Josh is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. He found his start in the realm of psychology by working dispatch for the RCMP and also volunteering with the Zebra Centre here in Edmonton. Trauma, anxiety, depression and burnout are his jam, but he has a special interest in working with first responders. Josh has a great sense of humour, an analytical approach, and loves a good debate. His favourite colour is purple and he boasts the ability to simultaneously whistle and hum.
